Powell customers look to Powell to provide end-to-end solutions whether the project is simple and straight-forward or if it is many years in execution and involving a broad range of equipment. The value that Powell brings to your project includes a professional Project Management team trained in the needs and requirements to properly plan and execute all the necessary tasks from initial contact to energization or any part thereof. Our skills are so highly valued that we have provided them as a resource to customers to assist with the management of projects with scope outside of that which Powell provides.
Equipment Installation and Commissioning
Modern electrical distribution systems are complex in design and often include interconnected with other equipment such as batteries, communications, SCADA, other switchgear assemblies and thermal monitoring. As a result, the physical delivery of the project to the jobsite is not the last stage in the process. Not only must the equipment be installed but the various systems must be verified as to correct operation. This is both a productivity and a safety issue.
There is no entity better suited to handle these tasks than Powell. We designed it, we manufactured it and we know the details of what is necessary. Our field teams are ready to provide the level of service you require in order to move your project to that "ready to go" stage.
Power System Studies
Smaller-sized projects where a large Engineering Constructor is not involved often require the end-user to source a variety of activities during the planning and pre-engineering stages. Among these are a wide variety of power studies including interrupting current calculations, fault studies and arc flash zone determination.
Powell has the resources to aide our customer with these services. Our depth of understanding of equipment ratings and proper application will often result in a study that gives you the best determination of equipment selection and delivers maximum value.
Equipment training provides a practical approach with brief classroom discussions followed by “hands on” practice. Each course is intended to stimulate further discussion for continued learning. Instructors are application technologists, manufacturing specialists, and engineers, who provide a blend of diversified perspectives. Because equipment in an operating facility is typically not readily available for training purposes, Powell’s facilities are configured for “hands on” learning. On-site instruction at customer locations can be provided with class materials structured to fit the specific jobsite equipment and needs.
